This morning (Monday, February 27) we allowed God to speak to our hearts in a time of stillness between several times of heartfelt and exuberant praise and worship. Some of us shared from our seats what we felt God had been whispering to our hearts in the area of what do we need to die to today..
As we let go of what it is that we hold onto so tightly in our lives– and as we allow Him to take control of us- He promises to never let go of us. We let go so that we can hold onto Him.
A Psalm of David
The LORD is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
He leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
Bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
For you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me
In the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
All the days of my life,
And I will live in the house of the Lord, forever.
(Psalm 23 – New Living Translation)
God is faithful. He promises to never leave us or forsake us. He walks with us through the storms, the highs, the lows, the peaks, the valleys. Even in the darkest valley He is with us. He promises to be faithful. He is faithful. He will always be faithful.
When you close your eyes, clear you heart and let go – what do you hear God whispering to you?
