We’re giving it all away.

Holding onto something that we are passionate about usually doesn’t lead to greatness.

Greatness is achieved as we give it all away.

Let us hold loosely to the little picture in order to keep a grip on the big picture.

God, today I choose to let go of what I want and what I think should take place. Today I realize that You see the big picture, not me. I’m yours..

Because of Jesus Christ we get to call ourselves Christians.

Sometimes our outward lives seem to reflect that we leave Christ out of the label Christian.

It’s all because of Jesus that I’m alive. He alone is worthy of every part of me.

You loved me before I even knew you.

I had no idea who you were. I never heard of you yet. There I was, chilling out in my mother’s womb, growing and becoming a human, but you already knew me.

You loved me even then.

You loved me when you created the universe and since you dwell outside of our understanding of time – you knew when I would be here on earth. Even then you loved me.

You sent your Son to die for me. He saved me. He rescued me.

Thank you God for loving me! Thank you Jesus for saving me! Thank you Holy Spirit for whispering the Father’s love to me every day!

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

You’ve probably heard the saying, “sinners tell lies; Christians sing them.” Don’t let this be true for you today! What is happening in your life and what’s around you that proclaims the words “how great Thou art?”

YOU ARE A SONGWRITER!

The Bible tells us all to sing to a new song to the Lord (Psalm 96:1).

God wants to hear from YOU.

He likes the songs from YOUR heart.

Tell Him something new today and use YOUR own words to do so.

Sing a new song to the Lord!
Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!
Sing to the LORD; praise his name.
Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.
Publish his glorious deeds among the nations.
Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.
Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise!

So what are you waiting for? Sing a new song to him! Praise him! Tell the world that he saves! Publish his deeds! Tell everyone about the amazing things he does! He is worthy of it!

God is holy.

Holy.

What does it really mean?

Psalm 99:9 says, “Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the Lord our God is holy.” Try to define holy and you’ll see that most definitions contain language that point to God.

God is the definition of holy. He is pure. He is perfectly good and perfectly righteous. He is divine.

God is holy.

We are not.

Through Christ we can stand in the presence of a holy God and die to ourselves yet live in Christ. This is living dead.

How is his holy presence changing you today?

Today the RCC Oakmont band played a benefit concert at The Bible Chapel in the South Hills. The benefit concert was called “Love Comes Alive” and benefited three organizations: Pregnancy Resource Center, Light of Life, and The City Mission.

At the end of the concert all three participating bands came together to sing this final song by Big Daddy Weave called “Love Come to Life”.

Only God can save. Only God can rescue a soul. He wants us to pray for the lost. He wants to use us to shine His light brightly throughout the world.

Pray for lost people today in your world and to the ends of the earth. Ask God to reveal how you can be a part of his great commission (Matthew 28)

This morning we spent our time of worship in prayer – not about us – but about others. We prayed for family, for friends.. We prayed for RCC’s backyard communities.. We prayed for Pittsburgh.. We prayed for our world..

Take some time in your busy to get alone with God. But don’t focus on you today. Focus on praying for others. God asks His people to humble themselves and pray. He asks us to pray for others. He hears us. It is important. It is eternal.
